Oak Class

Welcome to Oak Class

Our class includes Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, making us the oldest in the school and role models for others. Miss Kirkland is our teacher, supported by Mrs Holohan and Mrs Bryant. Like all the staff at Offwell, the teaching team is friendly – they encourage us to work hard, have fun, and do our best.
Our classroom, dating back to 1840, has large windows, high ceilings, and arched doors, along with a cloakroom and a small additional room which we use as a space for chatting about things that are bothering us or doing a special piece of work. We also have a well-stocked library with comfortable chairs.
The school day is busy, with two daily breaks for play and lunch. We enjoy playing outdoors, either on the playground – where we have a pergola, seating areas, plants, and a wildlife-friendly water feature – or in the meadow, where we can play football or use the trim trail.
If you would like to find out what we have been doing, click on the menus on the right.

Torbay & Devon Civic Award

In Year 6 we work towards the Torbay and Devon Civic Award. The Award aims to encourage Citizenship amongst 10 and 11 year olds.  Below are some photos of some of the activities undertaken by Year 6 raising money for a charity they are supporting.
